The implementation of the e tolling has been delayed

The delay of the e tolling is good news to Gauteng's motorist
source

The announcement was made by transport director general George Mahlalela, just hours after the African National Congress and the Congress of SA Trade Unions (Cosatu) said they would ask the government for a month-long delay Read more.
I really think that the delaying of the e tolling system is a relief to must motorist. I must say that travelling on Gauteng road it is going to be quiet expensive. The strike that was planned by the cosatu is going ahead as planned the strike will give motorists again the opportunity to vice out they opinions about the e tolling.

I wonder what is going to be the discussion of the south Africa national road agency on the trifles, are they going to decrease the trifles or what. The Barden of the tolling system is too much for our motorists because the petrol price is going up again next week. The strike that was planned by the cosatu is going ahead as planned.

Form a marketing communication view I that the if the South African National Road Agency (snral) wants the e tolling system to be implementation to be successful they should use this time given effectively to communicate with the people who will be using the road and  this is where integrated marketing communications (imc) is important and it should be effective.

    1. Yes it been too long since we have been debating on this issue but the problem is that the SANRL cannot come with a solution that will accommodate everyone.

  2. I heard enough with this e-toll system why cant they leave the roads to be free like before, look how much money and time is waisted. Or at least reduce the cost to the lowest amount so everyone won't complain.

    1. We all want the e tolling to be cancelled but it seems like that will never happen, we will have to accept that the e tolling is here to stay.

  4. The e-tolling will be passed wether we like or not. They should just implement it and move. Many people have already registered for e-tolls do lts close the subject and moveon. The government got what it wanted and it will always get wha it wants.

    1. I also agree with you the government has got what it wanted so let it be but the really fact is that the nation will not give up it will keep on fighting for what is right.

    1. I also think that this is an other way for the government to get more money from us. Why should we pay for the roads that have been operating for such a long time.

  6. The government and SANRAL definately did not plan this strategically. This matter was not well-communicated to the public, it was not well-organised, if it were there would be no such things like 'a month-delay. The government really needs to decide.

    1. Yes it is true SANRAL did not communicate with the public and hopefully within this month delay time they have been given they will communicate with the public.

    1. Yes I also agree with you that too much time has been wasted and we need a final decision that will take into consideration our concern as the public.

  8. I think this e-tolling systems must be cancelled because majority of people in South Africa they don't demand them particularly the motorists.

  9. Yes the e tolling is not a demand to motorists but it is a demand to our government and the SANRAL.

  12. This e-tolling thing is just a waste of money and government should just forget about it as it will never succeed

  13. Yes the e tolling is just a waste time but i have to disagree with you that the e tolling will not be succeed, it is going to succeed wheather we like it or not.

  14. Well said Dineo about the need of communication as it is obvious that people are clueless about the effect that the e-tolling system is going to have on them and reasons for it to be implemented. Most motorists see it as a deep end for them and yet it will also affect us indirectly for the fact that parents will have to cut down on the amount they give and also we'll have to cut down on our wants, as money is going to be an issue. For SANRal this maybe a solution and to motorists this maybe a problem so where is the balance in this and who is benefitting?

  16. My opinion is that it's going to be difficult for SANRAL Communication department to convince people about signing up for E-toll, reason being that E-Toll has recived lot of bad criticsm and publicity, i reckin that they must just do away with it and find other alternative ways to make motorists pay.
